Description

Being a man can be difficult at times when you don't fit the social mold. In Black Mane, Michael LaRiccia's manhood and identity is challenged on a daily basis by hyper-testosterone jocks, openly abusive men in relationships, and even himself. In public he deals with these challenges through contemplation and reason, but in his most private dreams he revels in the imnediacy and thrill of solving these situations through violence. This violence is articulated through LaRiccia's own fantasy hit man, Black Mane, a man/lion hybrid cloaked in midnight black fur. Humor and horror combine to tell this Xeric award-winning tale.
